The HTC Arrive works on the 800/1900/2000 frequency bands, and as this is a CDMA phone, we don't call it a 3G phone, but it is an EVDO phone, which is the 3G equivalent in CDMA. The phone was announced in October, 2010, and released later in March, 2011. You can have this phone for 280 Euros.

The phone is on the bulkier side with dimensions 117.5 x 59 x 15.5 mm and weighing 185 grams. The phone has a 3.6 inch TFT capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 480x800 pixels with the ability to display 256k colors. Another feature is the presence of a physical QWERTY keyboard which slides out from the side of the phone. But if you don't like this, you can still use the onscreen keyboard as it uses the multi-touch functionality.

The phone also features an accelerometer for the auto rotation of the user interface when the phone is tilted. And the presence of a proximity sensor turns the display off when you are on a call and take the phone close to your ear. This prevents from accidental pressing of any button on the phone's display.

HTC has provided the HTC Arrive with a 3.5mm audio jack so that you can use any of your favourite headphones with the phone. You can even enhance the audio quality of the music using the built-in Dolby Mobile and SRS sound enhancements systems.

As its predecessor, the HTC Arrive comes in two memory versions, one with an 8GB built in memory, and the other with a 16GB built in memory. But in both these models, there is 576 MB of RAM and 512 MB of ROM. There is no memory card slot, so there is no extension of the memory on this phone.

The connectivity options on the HTC Arrive include Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP and EDR, and microUSB v2.0. The smartphone also has a 5MP camera which takes pictures with a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. There is auto focus and flash as well. Geo-tagging, face detection, and the ability to record video in 720p resolution remains the same as its predecessor.

The HTC Arrive is a Windows Phone 7 smartphone which runs on 1 GHz Scorpion processo and a dedicated Adreno 200 GPU. This setup is housed on a Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon chipset. The phone also comes with A-GPS and Bing Maps as the default maps application. The included battery is a standard 1500 mAh Li-ion battery which gives a battery backup of up to 6 hours of talk time. "; $review2 = "HTC Arrive is first of its kind to be made available in the CDMA network with Windows 7 mobile phone operating system. The Microsoft operating system didn't support CDMA network and that is why CDMA carriers like Sprint didn't have much to offer with respect to Windows mobile phones until the introduction of HTC Arrive.

If you are so used to HTC android phones, you will find HTC Arrive to be a little different and it seems that HTC is planning to make its Windows 7 phones different from the android ones. HTC Arrive features a slide out keyboard and fortunately, there is no wobbling or slopping of the screen. HTC Arrive falls on the pretty heavy side of smart phone, mainly due to its slide out keyboard and the sliding mechanism is very tight. Volume rocker can be easily accessed on the left edge without hunting for the button and power button is placed appropriately at the top.

HTC Arrive has a 3.6\" LCD screen which is small and decent. The quality of the screen is not great, especially when AMOLED screen phones are just around the corner. Arrive has a 5 megapixel camera at the back and compared to other HTC phones, this is a big disappointment as the camera clearly lacks quality. Images caught by the camera are over sharp and over exposed. Video recording is good, but audio captured by the HD video is very poor.

HTC Arrive runs on Windows Phone 7 operating system and you won't feel any difference with the OS. Apart from the native apps, you will obviously have access to some of the exclusive Sprint apps in HTC Arrive which brings a breath of fresh air. The home screen is completely customizable as it is always the case with Windows mobile phones.

Connectivity options for HTC Arrive are nothing exclusive, but this smart phone certainly helps you to take advantage of internet connection wherever you go. There is nothing very special about the multimedia feature of HTC Arrive mainly due to the small screen size. Browsing, emailing and messaging are so easy and simple with the full keyboard.
